Hola Familia y Amigos!  This week was fantastic as always! We had an inspired zone conference and great experiences in being led by the Spirit to find God's children. One experience that resonated with me this week happened Wednesday.  We had to stop at a gas station and we were standing there and my companion had pulled out her scriptures and was showing me something she had learned, and a young man walked up to us and said that he was just there to rent a movie, and he saw us with our scriptures and knew he had to come and ask us who we were and what we were doing. We told him we were missionaries, representatives of Jesus Christ sent to share His word, and the man was shocked. He began to tell us that he had seen the light of Jesus Christ, but that he had strayed far away from that light. He said he felt this great heavy weight on his shoulders. He said, "I'm lost, and I know I'm lost." As he said that, he began to weep, and as he did his countenance ch...

Rachelle and her MTC BFF Sister Turini-Crane celebrating their first 100 days of the mission. Hola Familia y Amigos!  This week I hit my 100th day of being on the mission!!! I can't believe It! I'm still a greenie haha but I'm loving the mission and living it up here in North Mexico! :) This week was great as always. We have been so busy! The work is going well and busy! There isn't much time this week to write an email, but this week has been one where I have learned so much! I have been focusing on becoming a consecrated missionary this week. I read a talk by Tad R. Callister about becoming a consecrated missionary, and funny enough the theme of the talk was the same theme that's been running through our mission these last few weeks - sacrifice. The talk spoke about how a consecrated missionary sacrifices his disobedience, his pride, his fear, his laziness, his negativity, and everything else he has to give to the work. I have learned that the ...

Her pictures didn't come through this week, so we get a map instead. Sorry. Hola Familia y Amigos! This week has been wonderful, as always! The weather here has been absolute perfection. Heavenly Father just loves to rain down the blessings on us. This week has been filled with miracles as it always has!  This week has been full of adventures and doctors visits! Haha we took Sister Riley to the doctor this week for pretty much the first time, that was definitely an adventure! Doctors down here are definitely interesting.  It's been amazing to see this week how God directs us missionaries by the Spirit if we let Him. There were so many miracles this past week where the Spirit has directed us to just the right place at just the right time, and directed us to say just the right thing someone needed. Heavenly Father has led us to some amazing people this week, and has also guided us very specifically in our words in order to answer specific prayers of the people we see. Some...

Hola Familia y Amigos! So this week was an awesome, special week filled with amazing spiritual experiences. It is an amazing privilege yo watch the light of the Gospel light up the darkest of lives, and I love that I have the opportunity to represent the Lord Jesus Christ in bringing His sheep back to Him! This week I learned that it is no accident that I am here serving as a missionary at this specific time in Brownsville, TX. This week I was blessed enough to discover at least a portion of the reason why I am here in this place at this time. This week we had a lesson with Jasmine Reguenes, but Brother Reguenes wasn't able to make it so it was just her and us. It ended up being an incredibly special lesson, because we got to just talk with her and focus on her and get to know her without anyone else being there, and she shared some really special things with us. She just talked with us for a while, all in Spanish, and we just got to know her for a little while. Then she start...

Hola Familia y Amigos!  So this week has been great as always. The greatest thing ever, General Conference!!! Us missionaries get so spiritually hyped for conference! It's also a fantastic opportunity for us to invite nonmembers to come and see what it's really like to listen to the voice of a Prophet of God! Conference was incredible, and so was Easter, when we got to celebrate the most important day in all of human history, when our Savior rose again. What a blessed week!  This week has been full of beautiful experiences and powerful teaching moments. We were able to watch conference with two different investigator families, and it was great for them to be able to hear the voice of the Prophet and the other servants of the Lord. Conference was also, for me at least, a fountain of revelation for the investigators we are teaching right now, and a powerful tool we have used to strengthen less-actives we are working with as well. We are also teaching this really cool gu...
