Edinburg, 3/25/19 (A week of miracles!)

Image
Brandon's Baptism. Brandon is the son of Jessica #1 from the story below (standing next to Rachelle). They found him on a cold, rainy day while they were riding their bikes through a park. Brandon led the sisters to Jessica #1 and all her children (who were baptized last week), and Jessica led the sisters to Juana, her aunt (on the left by Sister Drury) who was baptized last week. Jessica #1 also led the sisters to Jessica #2 and her children who are on date to be baptized this weekend. Jessica #2 helped the sisters work with Carlos and Isabel and their 7 children who all came to church and want to be baptized.  HoHola todos! So... I need to repent because it's been so long since I've written a weekly. And it's ridiculous porque (because) there have been so many miracles in this place that I don't even know where to begin telling them! I could talk all day about the miracles that God is giving this ward and these people. Here are just a few: ...

Jessica and her girls and Jessica's older sister Juana (on the right) on their baptism day. (Juana looks like a teenage girl, but she is actually Jessica's older sister, and a grandma already! What's her secret to looking youthful???) Jessica is one of Rachelle's "best friends." Because of that, she didn't have time left over to write a group email. She did ask me, however, to tell her friends and family a few specific things: After 13 weeks straight of coming to church, Jessica's three oldest daughters and Jessica's older sister were finally baptized. Rachelle said that Jessica was overjoyed for ...

Just some random photos we haven't seen before.

Hermana Clarke called us this week, and it was wonderful to talk to her. It feels like we are just catching up after a busy week--which is, in fact, what we're doing! Highlights from the conversation: She sent her much-loved Sister Richardson home last week and got a new companion from the Riverton area: Hermana Drury. Sister Drury is 5' 11" and blonde and played college basketball in Wyoming. Rachelle says that it's nice to have someone "taller and blonder" than she is! After their first week together, Rachelle says that she just loves Sister Drury. She says that they are so much alike and that Sister Drury is "soooooooo much fun."  Rachelle said that she had a very special week this week and that she could feel the prayers from others blessing her. (So keep those prayers coming!). What blessings? What special things? As you may remember, Rachelle and her companions have been teaching a family for the last three months or so. The mother ...
