Mercedes, Letter 7

Hello everyone! This week has been good! It's good to be here for another transfer with Sister Nieves in Mercedes. I'm glad they didn't move me anywhere! This is too great of an area! Plus I never want to serve anywhere except for Spanish areas ever again. Haha just kidding, I will go where He wants me to go. I love being among the Latinos, and I love once again being next to the border! I think it's amazing teaching about the Book of Mormon to these people, because it really is the story of their ancestors, and it has special meaning for them. I love really getting to be a part of bringing the Lamanites to the knowledge of their forefathers, just as it talks about. The Book of Mormon is the most incredible thing. I have never realized how incredible the Book of Mormon is until I came on my mission and had the opportunity to study it for an hour every day! It is so incredible!!!  The mission is a miracle as always. As always we have been striving to be as exa...

This was the "Fight Night" in McAllen this year. I'm wondering if this is where Hermana Clarke and Hermana Nieves contacted 64 people?! LOL. ¡Hola Familia y amigos! This week has been a fun one! We have had so much fun teaching our investigators and talking to tons of people! One day opened our mouths to 64 people - thanks to fight night! Haha. One of the highlights of the week was that we had the opportunity to have President Torres come out and teach a lesson with us. That was a super awesome learning experience and was so exciting! I don't think I knew what bold was until that lesson. Haha. I learned so much, I definitely have the best mission President of them all! I learned a lot about the power of my calling as a missionary and how the Spirit works. It was such a blessing  We found out transfers last night, and I am staying with Sister Nieves in Mercedes for another transfer! I never ever want to leave this area, or serve in English ever again! ...

Happy Sisters. Hermana Clarke and Hermana Nieves After a long day at work. Happy faces! Some more amazing wedding shots. She must love these because she keeps taking pictures of them. Hola Familia y Amigos! These last two weeks have been wonderful. We have seen lots of progress and miracles in our area, and I am so grateful for that! Yesterday, we were privileged to have a visit from Elder Peiper and Elder McKay of the 70. They are doing a mission tour here in the Texas McAllen mission, and yesterday we had a conference. It was a wonderful and incredible experience to be taught by special witnesses of Christ! I learned so much. The last two weeks the work has been progressing wonderfully! We are working really hard in our area and I am absolutely LOVING serving Spanish! We only have one week left in this transfer, and so we want to finish strong! We have been working hard on making sure we never ever go home without talking to at least 10 people every sing...

Hermana Clarke and Hermana Nieves at lunch with the McAllen zone on P-Day. Her mission president (in the yellow shirt) joined them for volleyball and then for lunch. She LOVES President Torres. She says he's very loud and very competitive when it comes to volleyball! She also says he's a spiritual giant. What a great combination. Hola family and friends! This week God gave us a total tender mercy. We have an awesome ward here in Mercedes, and so I've really wanted to find a bunch of people for them to fellowship!  I was just trying to help us do everything we can to find investigators and people who were ready. W e were finding some, God was for sure blessing us, but none of them were super fuego--on fire. And so I was pushing and pushing and making Sister Nieves talk to everyone and we were just talking to everyone. And then God decided to be so merciful to us. And he just gave us this incredible family as a referral. The mom of the family has a moth...
