¡Hola Familia y Amigos!
This week has been a whirlwind! The area is being so blessed right now! New investigators are coming out of the woodworks, and we are being led to wonderful people to teach! God has great things in store for Brownsville!
This week has been full of interesting experiences. We've especially had to focus on the gift of discernment and discerning by the Spirit as we have gone about our work this week. There are many interesting and different people we meet, all with different beliefs and stories and I enjoy experiencing it all! God truly directs His work. However, I've also learned that the adversary is also hard at work, and in order to discern that we have to he exceptionally close to the Spirit - we can't be deaf to the voices of Heaven! We went to visit a family we found this week, and the mom is a very devout Christian. She was talking with us about how God uses her to prophecy and she began to prophecy about us to us. It was a crazy experience. She said some crazy stuff, and it was definitely by some power, but I felt the Spirit speak to me that the power of Heaven was with us, and it didn't work that way. So we had to use the Spirit's discernment to navigate that situation. But we were able to testify to her, using the real Spirit of God, that the things we brought to teach were of God, and that she would know it too if she partook of them by the right spirit. It ended up being a very powerful spiritual experience.
We've had some amazing teaching experiences this week too! We found 10 new investigators, and are teaching some wonderful families that we are so excited about. Eternal families really are the greatest blessings. God is leading us by the hand to find people we are meant to teach. One of our investigators we keep being led to - we walked past her in the store and the Spirit was really adamant that we needed to talk to her and her family - it is pretty soft most of the time, but that time it was insistent! And so we did, and then when we went to go visit her, we knocked the door and no one was there. Then the Spirit said we needed to go upstairs and knock this specific door, and it turned out to be their door, and we had the wrong address, and the Spirit knew it and told us exactly where to go. Since then we have seen why, she is an incredibly prepared person to receive the Gospel! She has a lot of opposition to face on her path to Christ, but we know she can do it. I also know that the Spirit knows who is prepared and will lead us there if we will listen. Sometimes the Spirit leads us to things that will make us stronger too. But everything is for a reason.
Two of our sweet investigators are preparing for their baptism soon! They are so special and we are so excited for them. We have watched as their faith and knowledge of their Savior has grown tremendously. They even say they want to be missionaries when they get older, and by how much they know already, they will be stellar!!! I know it!
Right now this area is seeing a lot of blessings and success. We know thay success is a gift from God, and I don't know why He is blessing us, but He is. I love this work!
I love you all! ¡Les quiero muchísimo!
