Brownsville, Letter 21 (No letter last week)
Hola Todos!!!
Again, I apologize for not writing an email last week. It looks like I am now the queen of emergency transfers! My incredible compañera, la Hermana Hale, went home last week, and now I have a new incredible compañera, la Hermana Jamile!! Best part - she is from Hawaii! We have a BLAST together. We definitely almost went to Mexico this week. We live like 10 minutes from Matamoros, and we were driving and almost missed a turn, and realized if we had missed it we would've hit the bridge to Mexico, and there would've been no turning back...!!! Part of me wonders what our tiwi (car monitor) would do if we accidentally went to Mexico. Hahaha. Good thing we didn't actually find out! Times are good, and we've seen tons of miracles! I feel super blessed to be her companion, even though we will only be companions for two weeks total, because next week is transfers.... and I'm being transferred!!! I don't know where yet, but I do know that wherever it is, it will be awesome! I am so sad to leave this area, but I am excited for a grand new adventure.
We had entrevistas with el Presidente Torres this week. Always the coolest part of the whole transfer of course. Hahaha. I have the best mission President in the world. I have definitely had many unique experiences in my mission. But I know they've all been for my benefit. I know that each experience has shaped me as a missionary and as a disciple of Christ. I have no greater joy than to serve Him. And I absolutely love all the crazy and loving people we meet! I've never met so many people on the street who will just feed you on the spot, or so many drunk people who will serenade you. Truly though, the Lord has a lot of love for Brownsville and the people here. I have the privilege to serve these good people, and I don't think there's anything better.
¡Les quiero a todos! Ojalá que tengan una buena semana
Con amor,
La Hermana Clarke
