Mercedes, Letter 7

Hello everyone!

This week has been good! It's good to be here for another transfer with Sister Nieves in Mercedes. I'm glad they didn't move me anywhere! This is too great of an area! Plus I never want to serve anywhere except for Spanish areas ever again. Haha just kidding, I will go where He wants me to go. I love being among the Latinos, and I love once again being next to the border! I think it's amazing teaching about the Book of Mormon to these people, because it really is the story of their ancestors, and it has special meaning for them. I love really getting to be a part of bringing the Lamanites to the knowledge of their forefathers, just as it talks about. The Book of Mormon is the most incredible thing. I have never realized how incredible the Book of Mormon is until I came on my mission and had the opportunity to study it for an hour every day! It is so incredible!!!

The mission is a miracle as always. As always we have been striving to be as exactly obedient and dilligent as possible. We never ever go home without talking to at least 10 people (many times we talk with many more) and asking for at least 10 referrals! We have lots of daily goals and weekly goals and we are doing everything we can to show as much faith as possible to God. Sometimes the agency of others is frustrating, because you wish more than anything that they would just take the blessings that are in front of them, but I know that there is a purpose for all things. We are just the pencil in the hand of God, and God chooses what He wants to write. The pencil does not merit anything of itself. Its only job is to be sharp and to allow itself to be used. The trick of the mission is just to figure out how to get out of the way. :)

The mission is great! Loving the food, the heat, and the fact that summer is almost over and the fact that I don't ever have to live another August here. Hahaha. These people are amazing and I want to be one of them forever.

Oh, and my grito is getting pretty good for those of you who know the culture. ;-)

I love you all! Have a great week!
